She is married to her best friend and partner, Jeff Fordis, and they have one son, Nick.
With a sharp eye for detail, Jeff Fordis is director of communications and public relations at Fordis Consulting. In this position, he oversees publicity, social media marketing, content writing, and copy editing. He executes strategic planning for data driven publicity campaigns, writes press releases and bios to promote new executive hires and company news, and edits multiple weekly newsletters for non-profit organizations.
Jeff has a reputation as a creative and detail-oriented public relations professional with demonstrated experience increasing company footprints in the media and entertainment industries. Seasoned in supporting numerous concurrent initiatives as an independent contributor and as a key player on collaborative teams, Jeff has a proven track record of building and sustaining relationships with the media and senior executives to promote projects. He is a reliable team member and influencer with excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Previously, Jeff was a publicity director for the ABC Television Network, where he worked for close to 30 years. He was in charge of promoting numerous primetime drama, comedy, and alternative series and specials, including Dancing with the Stars, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, The Middle, How to Get Away with Murder, Lost, Alias, Desperate Housewives, Boston Legal, 8 Simple Rules, The Academy Awards, The American Music Awards, and other key programs and events. Jeff authored press releases and pitched publicity and creative ideas to the media and internal teams, summarized scripts, and developed targeted marketing and social media strategies to increase audience engagement. He also aided in developing talking points for use by the President of ABC during upfronts and press tours, and developed interview preparation for producers and talent to assist in promoting shows and increase viewership.
Additionally, he also served as the network’s west coast copy editor, where he edited publicity staff release content, and was also the department’s staff writer.
Jeff’s work was honored by being awarded two Publicist Guild’s Maxwell Weinberg Publicist Showmanship Awards, first in 2002 for his Outstanding Work on the series, “Alias,” then again in 2006 for his work on the series, “Lost.” He was also nominated for an award in 2004 for the series, “8 Simple Rules.”
Jeff graduated with a BA in Radio and Television from California State University, Long Beach. He was the Outstanding Departmental Graduate and was a recipient of President’s Honor and Deans Lists, and a member of multiple honor societies.
In his spare time, Jeff likes to bike ride, tinker with computers and gadgets, and loves to watch movies on his giant (and loud!) home theater system. He is married to Fordis Consulting’s founder, Lara Fordis, and they have one son, Nick.
Rachel served as a principal, college counselor, and teacher in the Los Angeles area over the past two decades, at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. She has extensive experience working with high achieving college bound students and high need underperforming students in both district and charter schools. She is highly respected in the Los Angeles education community as a school leader who uses data-based decision making to create positive school cultures, as well as data analysis to support underrepresented minority students attain strong academic achievement and college admissions.
Rachel is very collaborative and has a strong understanding of the tensions between the limited resources and needs of all stakeholders in 21st Century public schools. She works closely with school administrators to help them identify and analyze actionable data to better understand and highlight their schools’ unique challenges and successes in order to make these campuses more effective places of learning.
She is a nationally recognized trainer on topics related to educational equity and access and has supported numerous schools through her work with The College Board National Office on School Counselor Advocacy and the Western Association of College Admission Counseling Executive Board, where she served as an elected delegate and member of the Inter-Association Committee. Rachel has been recognized for her leadership on college counseling issues in the LAUSD as well as the California School Counselor Association.
